First International Mobility Programme Implemented within the Erasmus+ Project Youth IMPACT
The programme began with a focus on getting to know each other and creating a safe and supportive environment for all participants. Already on the first day, through informal and interactive activities, participants had the opportunity to share their stories, expectations and motivations for joining the programme. This initial step proved essential in establishing an open atmosphere of trust that shaped the entire training.
On the following day, through the official opening and carefully designed activities, the group began to form as a team. Participants jointly defined the rules of work and expectations, while educational sessions focused on understanding disability, breaking down stereotypes and developing communication skills. Active listening and teamwork played a central role in laying the foundation for effective collaboration in the days that followed.
The third day brought deeper reflection on the challenges faced by young people with visual impairments. Through a dynamic debate on the role of technology in improving quality of life, participants developed their argumentation skills while learning to appreciate different perspectives. Interactive methods, such as role-playing, further encouraged the development of empathy and understanding of others’ viewpoints. Discussions naturally led to the identification of key barriers – from societal attitudes to physical and communication obstacles – along with joint consideration of possible solutions.
As the programme progressed, the focus increasingly shifted towards practical skills and everyday challenges. The fourth day was dedicated to understanding different types of barriers from the perspective of various social actors, as well as strengthening participants’ independence. Through concrete examples and exchange of experiences, participants worked on developing life skills such as time management and self-care. A special moment of the day was the joint visit to the Old Town of Budva, which provided an opportunity for further bonding outside the formal learning environment.
The final day of the training was oriented towards future opportunities for young people with visual impairments. Through the analysis of the legal framework and discussions on employment, participants gained broader insight into their position in the labour market. Job interview simulations enabled them to practice self-presentation, communication and navigating real-life professional situations, while sessions on digital skills further highlighted their importance for independence and competitiveness.
The programme concluded in an atmosphere of togetherness and reflection. Participants summarized their experiences, shared impressions and clearly demonstrated the significant impact such initiatives can have on personal and professional development. Throughout the programme, a strong message was present – that connection, understanding and inclusion are the foundations of a society where everyone has equal opportunities.
As a symbol of this shared experience, participants also conveyed their voices and messages through a joint video, reminding us that change begins when we are ready to listen, learn and act together.
