Training in Mostar
As part of the project "Youth IMPACT: Youth Integration and Motivation for Positive Achievement and Capacity Transformation", a training session for staff of organizations working with visually impaired persons from four countries in the region was held in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Blind and visually impaired young people face significant challenges in social inclusion and employment, and the Youth IMPACT project, co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ program, is focused on building the capacities of young people.
Project's goal is to address these challenges by strengthening the capacities of organizations active in the field of youth, as well as by encouraging the development of capacities of blind and visually impaired young people themselves, through new tools and programs that will enhance their skills and participation in society.
Alongside the Association of the Blind of HB/FBiH, members of the international consortium implementing the project include the Union of Blind and Visually Impaired Societies of Slovenia, the Croatian Blind Union, the Blind Union of Montenegro, and the A&A EMPHASYS Interactive Solutions Limited Research Center from Cyprus.
The training was attended by 15 participants from all partner organizations working with youg visually impaired persons, and it was delivered by trainers from Cyprus.
Participants became familiar with methods of non-formal learning and ways to strengthen the capacities of their organizations in working with young people with visual impairments.
The Youth IMPACT project lasts for two years.
